Patrick started his apprenticeship with Maguire electrical  working on major projects all over the North East. For example, Quinn cement and Quinn glass. Here he  completed  a successful apprenticeship and learned all the key skills to be a competent electrician.

He then went on to work as an electrician with Kagan electrical in Dublin, here he was part of a team that was involved in the electrical installation of several high end construction projects, for example; Jury’s hotel, Christchurch, Brook Lodge Hotel, County Wicklow Park, West Business Park, Park West Dublin. Having spent several years working after hand an electrician he then moved up to a charge hand with Settanta Electrical, here he was over his own team installing Fire Alarms, CCTV Systems and smart home lighting

Patrick then moved on to worked on Facebooks first Data Centre in Ireland. Here he worked with Mercury and Alert Fire installing the Fire Alarm System. He was project manager admin, along with his team, they installed, commissioned and handed over a Grade A System to the client on time and on budget.

In 2019 Patrick, along with his Wife  set up Gaffney Electrical Fire and Security. Since then their business has grown, with the number one focus being their customers. Gaffney electrical Adhere to strict health and safety rules
