Founded in 2017 by CEO and Head Electrician Francis Hegarty, the business evolved into Solar PV Donegal in 2020, reflecting Francis’s strong belief in the advantages of solar energy. With a professional journey that began in 2009, Francis possesses extensive knowledge and expertise in the electrical domain.

Having mastered the roofing trade and mounting systems on his own, Francis assembled a dedicated team for Solar PV Donegal. This team comprises him as the lead electrician and installer, another seasoned electrician, two electrical apprentices, and an administrative head responsible for grant work, material organization, and customer communication.

Francis’s impressive career trajectory includes a four-year Electrical Apprenticeship with the ESB (Electricity Supply Board) starting in 2009. From 2013 to 2019, he engaged in both domestic and commercial electrical projects as a registered electrical contractor. Since 2019, his focus shifted to renewables, encompassing heating upgrades, heat pumps, geothermal tubes, and notably, PV energy.
